Tesla Brings Cybertruck to Qatar

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) announced it has started selling its Cybertruck in Qatar, marking another step in its Middle East expansion. The move follows the EV maker’s entry into Saudi Arabia earlier this year, highlighting Tesla’s strategy to boost global reach amid slowing demand in its core U.S. and Chinese markets.

Middle East Expansion

Tesla entered Saudi Arabia in April 2025, unveiling the Cybertruck and a refreshed Model Y in Riyadh.
Support for the region includes online ordering, pop-up showrooms, Supercharger stations, and service centers.
This also symbolized reconciliation between Elon Musk and Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund after tensions from the 2018 “funding secured” saga.
Qatar now joins UAE and Saudi Arabia as part of Tesla’s first wave of Cybertruck sales outside North America.

Production & Deliveries

Tesla does not provide regional breakdowns for Cybertruck sales.
A recall filing in March revealed 46,096 Cybertrucks had been built between November 2023 and early 2025.
Tesla set a record in Q3 deliveries, aided by U.S. buyers rushing to secure the $7,500 EV tax credit before its September 30 expiration.
Analysts expect a sharp Q4 slump due to the incentive’s removal.

Tesla faces rising pressure in global EV markets:

BYD (SZ:002594) and Zeekr (NASDAQ: ZK) from China are ramping up international expansion.
Lucid (NASDAQ: LCID), backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, is also targeting premium EV buyers in the region.
