Pembina Stock Rallies on Meta AI Project

Pembina Pipeline Corp. (NYSE: PBA) closed +6% on Friday after reports from The Logic indicated the company is nearing a deal to build and power a large-scale AI data center for Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) in Alberta.

Project Partners and Energy Supply

Pembina will work with Kineticor, a power generation company, to provide natural gas–fired electricity for the facility.
Beacon AI is also believed to be involved in the project’s data center operations.
Pembina would supply natural gas through its Alliance pipeline network, which links Alberta and northern British Columbia to Chicago.
The company is exploring a potential 350 million cf/day expansion of the Alliance pipeline, targeted for 2029, to meet growing industrial demand in Alberta.

Strategic Location: Alberta’s Industrial Heartland

The AI facility would be located in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland, a hub for:

Oil refineries
Petrochemical plants
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology

The area’s CCS infrastructure could help tech firms like Meta offset carbon emissions from AI-related energy demand.
