Oklo Announces $2B U.S. Fuel Infrastructure Deal With newcleo

Oklo (NYSE: OKLO) shares traded 1.8% higher premarket Friday after announcing a joint agreement with European nuclear developer newcleo, which plans to invest up to $2 billion to develop advanced nuclear fuel fabrication and manufacturing infrastructure in the United States.

Swedish company Blykalla, another advanced nuclear technology developer, is also considering co-investing in these projects and procuring fuel-related services through the same framework, Oklo said in its statement.

Strategic Impact

The companies aim to create a robust and resilient U.S. nuclear fuel ecosystem, spanning multiple projects under U.S. regulatory oversight. The initiative will also enhance transatlantic cooperation and bolster energy security, while positioning Oklo as a leader in advanced reactor deployment.

“This agreement to implement newcleo's advanced fuel expertise into Oklo's powerhouses and invest $2 billion into American infrastructure and advanced fuel solutions is yet another win for President Donald J. Trump’s American Energy Dominance Agenda,” said U.S. Secretary of the Interior Burgum.

Oklo continues to expand its role in the emerging advanced nuclear and small modular reactor (SMR) market. The company’s “powerhouse” reactors are designed to deliver carbon-free, distributed energy for industrial and data center applications — a sector seeing renewed interest amid the AI-driven energy boom.
