J.B. Hunt Jumps on Q3 Earnings Beat and Operational Strength

J.B. Hunt Transport Services (NASDAQ: JBHT) surged 12% after the U.S. logistics giant topped third-quarter estimates, delivering both profit and margin expansion despite slightly lower revenue.

The company reported revenue of $3.05 billion, down 0.7% year-over-year, but ahead of consensus by $30 million. Earnings per share (EPS) climbed 18% to $1.76, exceeding the $1.46 consensus estimate.

Operating income rose 8% to $242.7 million, reflecting strong execution across its Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) segment — where higher revenue per truck and improved weekly performance drove efficiency gains.
