IBM Partners with Anthropic

IBM (NYSE: IBM) and AI startup Anthropic (Claude LLM) announced a collaboration to integrate Claude models into IBM’s enterprise software and development tools. The move is designed to improve productivity while maintaining governance and security standards for enterprise clients.

Claude will first be integrated into IBM’s new AI-first Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
The IDE, currently in private preview, is built to support software development lifecycles (SDLC), including software modernization and advanced task generation.
Over 6,000 IBM employees are already testing the IDE.

watsonx Assistant for Z → extends AI capabilities to IBM Z mainframes, enabling proactive system management with conversational AI and automation.
