Beyond Meat drops after posting quarterly loss and lower-than-expected forecast, driven by falling U.S. demand

Beyond Meat (BYND) continued its decline in premarket trading Tuesday, after the plant-based meat maker reported a wider-than-expected Q3 loss and weaker Q4 outlook.

The company previously delayed its results to determine the size of its asset writedowns. It ultimately booked $77.4 million in non-cash impairment on long-lived assets, making up most of the $81.2 million total non-cash charges.

Market Reaction

The stock — which briefly soared over 1,000% in late October amid retail-driven momentum — has since reversed most of those gains. Shares are now down around 6% from Monday’s close, up only 23% from a month ago.
