Beyond Meat Warns of Another Revenue Decline

Beyond Meat ($BYND) said it expects third-quarter revenue to decline by about 13% year-over-year, signaling that demand continues to soften for its plant-based products.

In a preliminary filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company forecast total revenue of $70 million, within its previously guided range of $68M to $73M, but down from $81M in the same quarter last year.

The preliminary figure came in roughly in line with Wall Street estimates of $68.83M.

Margins Continue to Tighten

Beyond Meat projected a gross margin of 10–11%, compared to 17.7% a year earlier, reflecting higher input costs and weaker retail demand.

Operating expenses are expected to fall to $41M–$43M, down from $45.2M in Q3 2024, as the company continues to implement cost-control initiatives.

Impairment Charge Expected

The company also disclosed plans to record a “material” impairment charge on its long-term assets. The amount has not yet been determined, but the move underscores continued challenges in profitability and asset utilization.

Stock Reaction: Post-Meme Pullback

After a meme-fueled rally sent Beyond Meat shares soaring 175% in four days, the stock has since reversed sharply, falling 20% from Thursday’s close and logging a third consecutive daily loss.

The company is scheduled to report full Q3 results after market close on Tuesday, November 4.
